Testing Labratory
When friends and business associates ask me to describe my job and role at GigaGolf "Lucky" is a word that always comes up.
Although it certainly does have commercial value, essentially my job is to design, test and play with golf clubs.
I am fortunate to be associated with a company that prioritizes product quality. GigaGolf is willing to invest in the tools and
research it takes to design, evaluate and manufacture today's modern golf equipment.
A large area of our manufacturing facility is dedicated to product research and development. My wife always knows where to
find me. Occasionally, she jokes with me about having a job that lowers my golf handicap. One of the pieces of testing equipment
in the design and testing studio is a swing robot.
Robot Testing
Our swing machine, or "robot" is essential for our golf club evaluation. It can produce shot after shot with swing speed
tolerance of less 0.5 mph on swings up to 110 mph. The automatic ball loader lets us test a club on a specific mph/impact
area set up 12 times to achieve statistical significance. We can weed out the bad ball in a box of 12 very quickly.
Now that the USGA has set a limit on the COR or speed at which the ball can come off the face, our research is centered
on maximizing the "sweet spot", MOI and shaft/head combinations.
We are able to use the swing robot in our test lab with the use of a launch monitor. Our current launch monitor is a 2005
model that uses the most advanced techniques to gauge the exact speed, backspin, sidespin, vertical angle and side angle of
every shot. This information is used to calculate the flight path and distance of the shot. By comparing club performances
we can make conclusive evaluations to determine what products to offer on GigaGolf.com. You have my assurance that the products
that you purchase will stand up to high quality standards when compared to any club available in today's vast assortment of golf
equipment choices. Additionally, you have our unconditional 30-day play guarantee that stands
behind every product we make.
Sincerely,
Robert Wilson
